Have you ever read a news story and not believed it? Maybe a friend has sent you something on social media that you thought was true, but then turned out to be false.
There is so much information online that it can be difficult to know what to trust and it’s very easy for misinformation to spread (remember all the strange facts about coronavirus?) It’s important to read news with a skeptical eye and not take everything as 100% fact. Understanding how to navigate social media is a skill we call Media Literacy.
So how good are you at telling what news is real and what is fake? Test your skills out with the short quiz below. For each news headline, decide whether you think it is real or fake. Then check out the answers below.
