Our Services
Did you know that there are Peer Advisors (PAs) and Language Advisors (LAs) hired and specially trained to help you reach your language learning goals? Many students are not aware of all the different ways PAs and LAs can help them so we have created a guide of the services we offer here at the SALC. Please come and try them out.
PA Support is available for English, Japanese, and AP Languages (Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay indonesian).

PAs can tutor you on speaking, writing and your homework in general. Here are some of the services we provide.

With the PA you can:

Practice every day conversation

Choose a topic or a game and just practice speaking with the PAs.

Prepare for speaking tests

The PAs are well versed in the speaking tests you have in class and have practice tests they can review with you. They can also listen to you and give you feedback on how you can improve.

Practice your presentation and get valuable feedback from the PA

Practice Speaking section in TOEFL IBT and IELTS practice
Are you preparing for your TOEFL IBT or IELTS? Come practice your speaking part with a trained PA who can give you feedback and tips to improve your speaking score on these tests.

Are you having difficulty completing your homework in a language class? Bring it to the PA to work on it together while having a chance to practice your language skills.

Advising:
Language Advisors are trained to advise you in the English/Japanese language learning process. They themselves are successful language learners who have mastered the language and are ready to share advice and different strategies. Often they help you create an English/Japanese study plan and motivate and support you along the way to help you achieve your English/Japanese goal. They can help you identify clear English/Japanese goals and suggest suitable material and strategies.
